About AOD-9604
AOD-9604 (Advanced Obesity Drug) is a modified fragment of human growth hormone (hGH), specifically the C-terminal fragment corresponding to amino acids 177–191 of the hGH molecule. It was originally developed by Monash University as a potential anti-obesity treatment because it retains hGH's fat-metabolizing properties without the growth-promoting or insulin-desensitizing effects of full hGH.
AOD-9604 is thought to stimulate lipolysis (fat breakdown) and inhibit lipogenesis (fat accumulation) by interacting with beta-3 adrenergic receptors, similar to the mechanism of hGH on adipose tissue. This makes it an interesting compound for body composition research.
AOD-9604 is typically supplied in 5mg vials. Using 2ml of bacteriostatic water yields a concentration of 2,500 mcg/ml. The most studied dose is 300–500mcg per day, administered via subcutaneous injection, typically in the morning or before exercise in a fasted state to potentially maximize fat-burning effects.
